PRE 4TH OF JULY CELEBRATIONS:

Event Name: EE Butler High School 4th of July Celebration
Event Date & Time:
Sunday, June 30, 3 p.m.
Event Location: Butler Park, EE Butler High School, Gainesville
Event Details: This 4th of July Celebration will have food, live music & fun for the whole family. The Splitz Band from Athens will be performing. Bring a lawn chair for this free community event!

Event Name: Jefferson’s Freedom Festival
Event Date & Time:
Saturday, June 29, 5 – 10 p.m.
Event Location: Downtown Jefferson
Event Details: Join us for music, games, over 70 vendors, food and family fun. Fireworks begin at dark. Live music will be going on throughout downtown from 5 p.m. until dark when the fireworks start. There will also be a Turnbuckle Championship Wrestling match from 5 – 6 p;m. Event Name: Auburn Independence Day Celebration
Event Date & Time:
Saturday, June 29, 5 p.m.
Event Location: 369 4th Avenue Auburn, GA 30011
Event Details: Join us for live music, food trucks and craft vendors. Fireworks will begin at dusk. For information, email [email protected].

Event Name: Hartwell’s Pre 4th Arts & Crafts Festival
Event Date & Time:
Saturday, June 29, 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Event Location: Downtown Hartwell
Event Details: This tradition has been happening since 1977. It’s Hartwell’s biggest festival with over 100 arts and crafts vendors, food, kids activities, and family fun. The Children’s Patriotic Parade begins at 10 a.m.

FESTIVALS & SPECIAL EVENTS:

Event Name: “Hello Summer” Inflatable Party
Event Date & Time:
Saturday, June 29, 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Event Location: Cumming City Center, Cumming
Event Details: Join us for bounce houses, waterslides, games! The cost is $10 per child.

Event Name: Summer Discovery Days
Event Date & Time:
Every Thursday – Saturday in June and July, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Event Location: Elachee Nature Science Center, Gainesville
Event Details: Exploration, education and adventure are all at Elachee! The nature center and indoor exhibit is open every Thursday – Saturday in June and July. Each day will have programs, animal encounters and special activities. All hiking trails and outdoor exhibits will remain open every day. General admission is $10/person for ages 3 and over. Members are free. Preregistration is not required.

Event Name: Model Railroad Days
Event Date & Time:
Saturday, June 29 – Sunday, June 30
Event Location: Southeastern Railway Museum, 3595 Buford Hwy., Duluth
Event Details: A family fun weekend featuring lots of model trail layouts, model trail sales along with current museum and full size train rides. For details, visit www.train-museum.org/

Event Name: Southeast Plant Show

Saturday, June 29, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Sunday, June 30, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Event Location: Gwinnett County Fairgrounds, 2405 Sugarloaf Pkwy, Lawrenceville.
Event Details: This two-day event will have more than 70 vendors, including major sponsors with a large selection of rare tropical plants, as well as common household plants! Event Name: Ace Hardware Block Party

Saturday, June 29, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Event Location: 3466 Winder Hwy., Flowery Branch
Event Details: Come to Ace Hardware of Oakwood for the 100th anniversary Block Party. Enjoy free BBQ samples of Loud Mouth Seasoning and Sauces, Omaha Steak Burgers and pet adoptions. There will also be free children’s gardening crafts.

MUSIC EVENTS:

Event Name: Dueling Pianos
Event Date & Time:
Saturday, June 29, 8 p.m.
Event Location: StillFire Brewing, Suwanee
Event Details: The Andrews Brothers Dueling Pianos are making their return for a fun, outdoor show! This is an all-request sing-a-long music and comedy show (not for kids!) and seating is first come, first serve. There will be a $5 cover starting at 6 p.m.

Event Name: The Fine Colombians – A Steely Dan Tribute
Event Date & Time:
Saturday, June 29, 8 p.m.
Event Location: Red Clay Music Foundry, 3116 Main St., Duluth
Event Details: This band has acquired the reputation of being the ultimate tribute band featuring top-notic musians and spot-on recreations of Steely Dan classics. Reserved seats are $30 in advance, $35 at the door. For details, go to to, www.eddieowenpresents.freshtix.com.

Event Name: The Future Ex-Husbands Sunset Concert
Event Date & Time:
Friday, June 28, 8 p.m.
Event Location: West Milford Farm, 7938 Ball Ground Rd., Cumming
Event Details: This band, the Future Ex-Husbansd, brings the dance party with renditions of 60s – 80’s rock and country music. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Guests may bring their own food and drinks, but there will be food sold as well. Entrees are priced between $6 and $15. Lawn tickets are $30 and bring a chair or blanket. Tables are reserved for more. Purchase tickets at www.westmilfordfarm.com
