The Jefferson Police Department arrested a man Monday after he allegedly sent explicit messages to an uncovered officer posing as an underage female.
Jefferson Police Officials said Sgt. Kyle Anderson on Jun. 20 began a conversation on social media with Esteban Arriaza, 31.
Anderson identified himself, in his undercover position, as an underage female.
Over the next few days, nonexplicit photos and phone numbers were exchanged.
“Subsequently, the conversation turned explicit with the adult wanting to perform oral sex and then taking her virginity through intercourse,” officials said in a press release.
A meeting was then set up for them to go on a date.
Arriaza arrived at around 1 a.m. Monday, June 24 at an unspecified location in Jefferson with the intent to have sex with an underage female, according to officials.
A traffic stop was performed and Arriaza was arrested without incident.
He was charged with enticing a child for indecent purposes and criminal attempt.
The investigation is ongoing and more charges are pending.
Sgt. Anderson is an officer with the Jefferson Police Department and is also assigned as a team member with the GBI's Internet Crimes Against Children Unit.
