Police in the city of Gainesville have arrested a local woman on charges of concealing the body of a deceased person from authorities.

Gainesville Police Lieutenant Kevin Holbroook tells Access WDUN that their officers responded to an apartment complex along Campus Pointe Circle on May 6, 2024 for an unknown problem. When officers arrived on scene they found 24-year old Mathew Gordon, of Duluth deceased from an apparent drug overdose. Lt. Holbrook says investigators believe that 29-year old Khrystal Eileen Borrero of Gainesville and another unidentified male found Gordon, at which point Borrero hindered their investigation, allegedly concealing details or evidence.

Gainesville Police booked Borrero at the Hall County Jail on Wednesday, June 25 for one count of concealing a death from authorities, and on other outstanding charges. She remained in custody, as of last update.
