Four people were injured Monday afternoon after a two-vehicle wreck on GA. 15 / Expressway 441 at Antioch Church Road.

Habersham County Public Information Officer Rob Moore said the collision occurred in the GA. 15 south lanes after a vehicle traveled across GA. 15 north into the grassy area near North Cobb Road.

“Habersham County Emergency Services personnel used tools to remove both driver’s side doors on a passenger car to free that driver. That process took about 10 minutes,” Moore said in an email to AccessWDUN.

The two occupants of the passenger car were taken by ambulance to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville.

Both occupants of the compact car near South Cobb Road were taken by ambulance to NGMC Gainesville.

Moore said a contractor for a local utility company in the area secured the wreck scene and handled traffic control.

“We cannot say enough good things about the assistance provided to us by the crew from Traffic Troopers,” Habersham County Emergency Services Battalion Chief Jason Garrett said. “Anthony White and Marvin Hinton, who were passing through while working in the area, were among the first on scene and secured it to prevent further collisions. They also ensured the safe flow of traffic, so we were able to utilize all our local personnel for patient care. They remained with us until the road was cleared and handled traffic efficiently and professionally.”

The wreck was cleared at around 1:20 p.m.

The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the wreck.
