Sisu Integrated Learning appoints new executive director

Sisu Intergrated Early Learning appointed a new executive director on Thursday.

Blythe Hammons, who holds a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from North Georgia College and State University, previously worked as a paralegal and marketing director for Davies Hothem Injury Law and was former executive director at WomenSource, Inc. 

Hammons has also worked as advocacy supervisor at Gateway Domestic Violence Center as well as volunteer and coaching positions in the community according to the press release from Sisu.

“I am deeply passionate about my community, children, and serving others,” Hammons said. “Throughout my professional career, I have been dedicated to counseling, advocating for, and empowering others to reach their full potential.”

Sisu was founded in 1985 and offers an integrated learning environment where children with special needs can learn alongside their peers.  

They serve 13 counties in Northeast Georgia and their stated mission is “to serve children through innovative educational, therapeutic, nursing and family support services in an inclusive environment.”

"Her proven leadership in nonprofit management, coupled with her passion for empowering individuals and families, aligns perfectly with Sisu’s mission,” Co-Board Chair at Sisu Dr. Kelly Lathem said.

Hammons will assume the role at Sisu Integrated Learning Center July 1, 2024.
