A Hiawassee man is behind bars on a list of charges related to the alleged sexual assault of a child.
A social media post this past week by the Towns County Sheriff's Office said that Tanner Trimble Boyd, age 31, was arrested Monday, June 3 on allegations of assaulting the child who was reportedly related to him.
No details about when and where the alleged crimes took place have been released, but the sheriff's office indicated that the Cleveland Police Department has been in contact with investigators about the case and that Boyd is likely to face additional charges out of White County.
Boyd is already facing a list of charges in Towns County, including rape, aggravated sodomy, child molestation, cruelty to children and furnishing obscene materials to minors. He's being held in the Towns County Detention Center without bond as of Sunday afternoon.
