Forsyth County named on Monday Jake Hill as the new director of the Department of Building & Licensing.
Forsyth County officials said Hill will begin that role effective June 3. He brings nearly 10 years of experience to the role.
“We are very excited to have Jake Hill on board as our new Director of the Department of Building & Licensing,” Assistant County Manager Tony Tarnacki said. “His knowledge and experience in permitting, inspections and more make him an ideal leader for this department.”
Hills began his career working with the City of Woodstock in building code, permitting and licensing as Senior Inspector and City Arborist.
Hill has worked in Forsyth County since 2021 serving in the Department of Building & Economic Development as Chief Building Official and then Deputy Director of the department in 2022.
Hill holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Georgia Southern University and obtained the International Code Council’s Master Code Professional designation.
Hill was named in 2019 the Inspector of the Year by the Building Officials Association of Georgia, he served on the State Codes Advisory Committee Task Force and he currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Building Officials Association of Georgia.
