The Hall County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Gainesville man after allegedly racing a second vehicle on a public roadway early Saturday morning.
A HCSO deputy reportedly observed Michel Betsaleel, 19, traveling eastbound on Browns Bridge Road near Murphy Boulevard at an estimated speed of 70 mph in a 35 mph speed zone at around 3:45 a.m.
The deputy was able to stop Betsaleel a short distance away in the area of Skelton Road. The second driver fled down a side street and was not apprehended.
Betsaleel was arrested and charged with speeding, racing on highway or streets, reckless driving and driving with a learner’s permit. He was released from the Hall County jail on a bond of $1,690.
