A residential fire was spotted around 4:30 p.m. Friday evening in White County.

The fire was at a home in the area of Helton Road that was vacant at the time of the fire and was spotted by White County Fire Service who called for additional units.

White County Fire Services was aided by the Cleveland Fire Department to contain it within minutes of their arrival, preventing the fire from spreading and saving most of the structure.

White County says the cause remains unknown and is under investigation by the Georgia State Fire Marshal's Office.
