Jack Griffeth, MD, radiation oncologist with Northeast Georgia Physicians Group recently earned the SpaceOAR Hydrogel Center of Excellence designation.

NGPG officials said SpaceOAR Hydrogel is designed to minimize side effects and improve the quality of life for men undergoing radiation therapy for prostate cancer.

“I am deeply honored to receive this designation,” Dr. Griffeth said. “We have such a great care team. This recognition reinforces our collective commitment to delivering the highest standard of care to prostate cancer patients by providing safer and more effective treatments while prioritizing their well-being.”

The gel acts as a ‘protective spacer’ to reduce radiation exposure to the rectum and other surrounding organs, according to NGPG.
