A Memorial Day Weekend for Georgia's commuters is showing a pleasant surprise at the gas pumps statewide.

AAA of Georgia's website is showing the average price for unleaded gasoline is around #3.36 per gallon as of Monday morning.  That price is a drop in the average rate for a third straight week,  two cents lower than one week ago, and four cents lower than one month ago.

Montrae Waiters of AAA says, The primary rescuer has been the reduction in Crude oil prices; nevertheless, increased demand has been a vigilant guard, preventing prices from falling drastically.”

Hall County's drivers are seeing an average price for gas that's slightly lower than the state average, currently around $3.32 per gallon, with the lowest average price in northeast Georgia found in Fannin County at $3.24, and the highest average in Franklin County at $3.39 per gallon.

The national average price for unleaded gasoline currently sits at $3.59 per gallon.
