The farming and gardening season is in full stride for 2024, and residents in Habersham County will soon have use of their canning plant to stock their crops!
Habersham County Canning Plant will be opening for the 2024 season on Monday, June 24. The plant will be open during the summer months on Mondays from 7:00 a.m.-Noon, Tuesdays from 4:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m., and Thursdays from 7:00 a.m.-Noon. It will also be open during the school year, starting August 6,on Mondays from 7:00 a.m.-Noon, Tuesdays from 4:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m., and Thursdays from 7:00 a.m.-Noon.
Officials with Habersham's canning plant remind residents that they will be closed on July 4 and September 2 (Labor Day).
All products must be in the jar or can prior to closing time with the cost for using the canning plant at 35 cents per jar or $1.75 per can. Customers must provide their own jar, but the canning plan will provide the can and lid.
Customers are asked to not enter the facility if they are exhibiting symptoms of or have knowingly been exposed to the COVID-19 virus.
The Habersham County Canning Plant is located at 901 Fairview School Road in Demorest.
