Storm debris and flooding blocks several northeast Georgia roads Thursday

The heavy storms moving through northeast Georgia on Thursday have left safety officials in Hall County busy with cleanup projects and utility workers on call for service restoration.
Hall County Director of Emergency Management Zach Brackett says the damaging winds and soaking rains created issues for many streets overnight, while a handful of streets remain affected by down trees, as of late this morning (May 9).
 
The locations of these incidents are as follows:

In Habersham County, their Public Works, Emergency Services, Sheriff’s Office, and other personnel continue to deal with the impacts of the overnight severe weather.
 
As of 9:45 a.m. on Thursday, May 9, Habersham County spokesman Rob Moore sayidnumerous roads in Habersham County were affected by trees or flooding issues:
  • Yearwood Road
  • Echota Road
  • Wheeler Road
  • Phillips Street
  • Habersham Mills Road
  • Hills Mills Road
  • ALffred Taylor Road
  • Riverbend Road
  • East Glade Creek
  • Wilson Road
  • Rock Road / Dicks Hill Parkway

Authorities for White County's Emergency Services say numerous streets remain blocked from storm debris and flooding issues, as of 9:00 a.m. Thursday, including the following:
  •  Helen Highway near Elkmont
  • -Highway 115 East near 4300 Block
  • -Highway 129 North near Pardue Circle
  • -(Flooding) South Main Street (Cleveland) near Campbell Stree
  • (Flooding) Quillian Street between Green Street and Boulevard Street
  • Cottontail Tra
  • Highway 129 South near county line
  • Ridge Road near 220 block
  • Robert Jarrard Road near 700 block
  • Hilltop Street near 300 block
  • Jackson Circle near Sherrell Drive
  • Tolhurst Road
  • Pine Hill Drive at Honeycomb Terrance
  • Blumen Weg near Dandy Lane
  • Carrie Cox Drive near 110 block
  • (Flooding) 115 W near Shoal Creek Church
  • (Flooding) Highway 115 W near 5200 block(Flooding) East Kytle near 190 block
 
Avoid these areas, if possible.
