A fire in Habersham County Tuesday heavily damages a residential structure and claims the lives of household pets, north of Clarkesville.

Habersham's Emergency Services, Habersham County Sheriff's Office and Clarkesville City Fire departments responded to the fire along Lone Wolf Way at around 2:45 p.m. to find an active interior fire inside a home.

Cause for the fire was not known as of yesterday, but Habersham Spokesman Rob Moore says crews could not save two family pets before the fire was contained within 30 minutes upon arrival.

No other injuries were reported.
