BUFORD, Ga. — Brookwood scored in the bottom of the 12th inning to beat Buford 4-3 and force a third and deciding game in the quarterfinals of the Class 7A tournament.

Game 3 is set for 5:55 p.m. on Tuesday at Gerald McQuaig Field in Buford.

The Wolves knocked off Brookwood in Game 1, 3-0, and had a chance to seal Game 2 in the bottom of the eighth inning when Ethan Murray scored on a Brookwood error.

However, the Wolves allowed the Broncos to tie the game, 3-3, on an Alex Reyes single.

In the bottom of the 12th, with two outs, Jay Bueno singled to left field, bringing VJ Heath home for the game-winning run.

In Game 1, Buford pitcher Nate Taylor was tough to hit, recording 13 strikeouts and allowing just two hits through six innings of work.

Taylor also drove in the first run of the game on a sacrifice fly in the first inning. Buford added a run in the second on a Luke Hopper single. The Wolves scored another run in the fifth inning.
