Baseball playoffs: Banks County falls in Game 2; eliminated from playoffs

HOMER, Ga. — Walker scored two runs in the first inning and never looked back in a 4-0 win over Banks County on the road Thursday in the second round of the Class 2A playoffs. 

Banks County ends its season with a 23-9 overall record. 

Brendan Finger scored the Wolverines' first run on a passed ball, followed by an RBI double by Zachary Munafo to take the 2-0 lead. 

In the second, Jackson Davis's sacrifice fly scored Tyler Fallaman for the game's third run. Walker added an insurance run in the top of the seventh. 

Banks County left eight men on base and left runners in scoring position in four innings, including two runners on in the bottom of the seventh inning.
