FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — Lanier Christian Academy closed out the regular season at home with an 8-5 win over Victory Baptist on Monday.
The Lightning (11-6) fell behind early but the offense struck for four runs in the bottom of the sixth to grab the lead. Josh Lebel, Gavin Strabala, and Landry Boling led the offense with 2 runs each. Strabala drove in three while Lebel and Boling knocked in a pair of runs each. Tres Criste, Mikah Criste, and Drew Kalinauskas each added a hit while Jayce Harrison and Quinn Winfrey also scored runs for LCA.
Hayden Davis started the game on the mound for the Lightning with Carter Sexton also pitching in relief. Tres Criste picked up the win, and Gavin Strabala closed the game with a scoreless seventh.
The Lightning will begin the first round of the GAPPS Class AA playoffs on the road later this week against a foe yet to be determined.
