More road work is coming to Interstate 985, although this time it will be the Buford area feeling the effects.
A release Wednesday evening from the Georgia Department of Transportation said crews will be doing concrete slab replacement on the northbound side of the interstate between Mile Marker 1 and the Hall-Gwinnett county line starting Monday, April 22. Officials said the work is expected to last several weeks and will lead to lane closures Monday through Thursday of each week from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day, weather permitting.
Delays are expected on the northbound side of I-985 during the work, and officials advise drivers to consider using alternate routes and to drive carefully when around the work. The status of the roadwork can be monitored on the Georgia 511 website.
