Five northeast Georgia area boys soccer teams got their postseasons under way on Wednesday in the Georgia High School Association playoffs.
However, just two were able to come away with victories and move to the second round in their respective classifications.

In Class 3A, Dawson County took an impressive 4-0 win over Adairsville at Tiger Stadium. But also in Class 3A, West Hall dropped a gut-wrenching 1-0 decision to eighth-ranked Bremen on the road and Lumpkin County fell 3-0 to No. 5 Coahulla Creek on the road as well.
Towns County in Class A Division 2 received a first round bye and did not to play on Wednesday.
In Class 5A, Jefferson fell behind early to Chapel Hill and never recovered, losing 3-1 at Memorial Stadium.
Dawson County will have a huge challenge in the Sweet 16 in Class 3A, traveling to No. 3 Hebron Christian, who routed Carver-Atlanta 10-0 in the opening round.
Rabun County in Class A D1 has an even bigger task, hitting the road against No. 1 Atlanta International in the second round. Atlanta International won the Class A Private state title in 2022.
