ATHENS, Ga. — For the third time this season, University of Georgia redshirt sophomore Charlie Condon has been named the Southeastern Conference Baseball Player of the Week; the league announced Monday.

Condon batted an SEC-leading .647 (11-for-17) with 24 total bases, four home runs and 10 RBI in helping Georgia go 3-1 last week. He drew five walks (two intentional) and scored eight runs. Condon made five starts at third base as Georgia won an SEC series over Missouri.

Condon leads the nation in Home Runs (24), Total Bases (152) and Slugging Percentage (1.109) plus ranks second in Batting Average (.482), On Base Percentage (.586) and Hits (66). Condon’s 49 career home runs in 92 games already ranks third most in school history, trailing Gordon Beckham who set the mark with 53 in 197 games from 2006-08 and Josh Morris who hit 51 in 190 games from 2004-06.

Also on Monday, the SEC named co-pitchers of the week in Chris Cortez (Texas A&M) and Zane Adams (Alabama) along with SEC Freshman of the Week (Gavin Grahovac, Texas A&M). The Aggies (32-4, 11-4 SEC) swept fifth-ranked Vanderbilt and moved up to No. 1 in the national rankings this week while Alabama claimed a series over then No. 1 Arkansas.

Up next, No. 23 Georgia (27-9, 7-8 SEC) plays host to Ole Miss (20-16, 5-10 SEC) starting Friday. First pitch at Foley Field will be at 6:02 p.m.
