The Humane Society of Northeast Georgia announced Thursday morning it has named Juan Cueto its new vice president of marketing and development.
In a press release, the organization said Cueto was a non-profit veteran with over three decades of experience. He will steer the organization toward attaining maximum fundraising outcomes that will elevate the shelter's mission of helping animals and people live better together.
“Juan’s impressive track record of achievements is testament to his ability to take us forward,” said Allison Mayfield, president and CEO of HSNEGA. “His combined leadership and knowledge of both marketing and fundraising will allow us to strengthen our resources, expand our outreach opportunities and make a greater impact in the lives of animals in our care and community.”
Cueto most recently served as chief executive officer of Atlanta Hospital Hospitality House, a resource for patients and caregivers who require accommodation and support while receiving medical treatment in Atlanta. In that role, Cueto managed financial accounting, communications, board management and engagement, staffing and the grants program. Prior to that, he was executive director at The Alliance for Florida's National Parks, where he played a role in leading fundraising initiatives that raised over $6 million in less than four years.
“The Humane Society of Northeast Georgia’s endurance in our community is directly related to the team’s passion and tireless efforts to uphold animal welfare,” said Cueto. “It’s a privilege to join HSNEGA and lend my expertise and knowledge to advance their mission. I look forward to making an impact on the organization and the communities in which we serve.”
Cueto is an alumnus of Florida International University where he obtained a bachelor's degree in Sociology and Anthropology. He further pursued his education at FIU's Chapman Graduate School of Business and earned an MBA in 2014.
