With spring now in full swing, there are plenty of activities taking place across Northeast Georgia.

Here's a list of what's happening this weekend:

Weekend Events Friday, April 5 – Sunday, April 7

FESTIVALS AND EVENTS:

Event Name: Fort Yargo Living History Market Faire 2024
Event Date & Time: Friday, April 5 – Sunday, April 7, Various Times
Event Location: Fort Yargo State Park, Winder, GA
Event Details: Step into the 1700’s with historical demonstrations, from cooking over fires to frontier camp. There’s old fashioned toys and you can participate in militia drills. Music and dances from a bygone time will accompany you while you browse the merchant shops. $5 admission fee (kids 5 and under free), $5 park pass not included.

Event Name: Spring Break at Atlanta Botanical Gardens
Event Date & Time: Friday, April 5, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Event Location: Atlanta Botanical Gardens, Gainesville
Event Details: With the price of admission, you can experience Fairytale Friday and other family activities. Come enjoy the transition from winter into spring on this last day of Spring Break.   

Event Name: Hall County Master Gardener Spring Expo
Event Date & Time: Friday, April 5 – Saturday, April 6, 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Event Location: Chicopee Agricultural Center, Gainesville
Event Details: The Spring Expo is perfect for all gardening enthusiasts. Workshops, seminars, demonstrations and more will features gardening techniques, while vendors will be there with gardening supplies, as well. Experts will be on hand for questions. Come learn new skills and connect with other gardeners. $2 admission fee per adult, kids are free. Free parking. No pets. www.hallmastergardeners.com.

Event Name: Art in the Park
Event Date & Time: Friday, April 5, 6 p.m.
Event Location: Jug Tavern Park, Winder  
Event Details: This event is highlighted with a lantern parade at 8 p.m. Come at 6 to make your own lantern so you can join in the parade. A Fire Show begins at 8:45 p.m. Food trucks and live music will all be on hand, as well.

Event Name: Spring Break Fun Fest
Event Date & Time: Friday, April 5, 2-3 p.m.
Event Location: Statham Public Library, 1928 Railroad St., Statham
Event Details: The UGA Etymology Department will be teaching attendees about different types of insects! Then enjoy a bouncy house outside to have more fun!

Event Name: Spring Fling Market
Event Date & Time: Saturday, April 6, 1 – 6 p.m.  
Event Location: Authentic Brewing, Athens
Event Details: A showcase of local talent from area craftspeople. Handcrafted treasures, from jewelry to ceramics, textiles to home décor. The Spring Fling event will also celebrate springtime with live performances and refreshments while you stroll through the market stalls.

Event Name: International Street Festival
Event Date & Time: Saturday, April 6, 12 – 5 p.m.
Event Location: Downtown Athens
Event Details: This family-friendly annual event promotes internationalization and cultural awareness. Over 3-5,000 attendees come each year to experience the cultural displays and performances at this festival. Enjoy the food and flavors of cultures from all over the world. Fill your “passport” with stamps. Kids and adults will win prizes based on how many stamps they collect. For information, go to isl.uga.edu.  

Event Name: Loomis Bros. Circus  
Event Date & Time: Now through Sunday, April 7
Event Location: Gwinnett County Fairgrounds, Lawrenceville
Event Details: This traveling circus has all your childhood favorite acts but also includes a few modern twists, as well. Get more details, as well as tickets, at loomiscircus.com.  

Event Name: Fiber Artists of the Southeast
Event Date & Time: Now through May 26
Event Location: Sautee Nacoochee Cultural Center
Event Details: The Cultural Center is now featuring an exhibit “Focus on Fiber.” Local fiber artists will be displaying their works of arts. Join a reception, Sunday, April 7 , 2-4 p.m. The exhibition is free. For hours and more information, go to www.snca.org.

Event Name: Drop-In Lantern Workshop
Event Date & Time: Saturday, April 6, 11 a.m.
Event Location: Suwanee Arts Center, Suwanee
Event Details: Hosted by the Suwanee Arts Center (SAC) and the City of Suwanee – City Hall, come decorate your own lantern in this family-friendly workshop. Perfect for all ages, join us to create a lantern to use at the Lantern Parade (Glow in the Park) as part of the International Night Market Festival on April 20. THEATER PRODUCTIONS:

Event Name: The Wedding Singer Theater Production
Event Date & Time: Friday, April 5 – Sunday, April 14
Event Location: The Eagle Theater, Sugar Hill
Event Details: The Players Guild brings you The Wedding Singer to the stage. Rock star, Robbie Hart, is New Jersey’s favorite wedding singer. Will his songs get him the girl of his dreams? Adult language means this show is not for younger audiences.

Event Name: Finding Nemo, Jr. the Musical
Event Date & Time: Friday, April 5 – Sunday, April 7  
Event Location: The Holly Theater, Dahlonega

MUSICAL CONCERTS:

Event Name: Hank Williams, Jr. Tribute Band
Event Date & Time: Friday, April 5, 7 p.m.
Event Location: Boot Barn Hall, Gainesville
Event Details: Frank Morrow will blow you away as Hank Williams, Jr. He has the same sounds and energy and has opened for some great bands. Doors open at 5 p.m., concert starts at 7  p.m. Ages 14+ www.bootbarnhall.com.

Event Name: Mainstreet: Tribute to Bob Seger
Event Date & Time: Saturday, April 6, 7 p.m.
Event Location: Boot Barn Hall, Gainesville
Event Details: This authentic tribute band will bring you all your Bob Seger favorites. Doors open at 5 p.m. and music starts at 7 p.m. Ages 14+  www.bootbarnhall.com

Event Name: Interstellar Echoes, A Tribute to Pink Floyd
Event Date & Time: Saturday, April 6  
Event Location: Red Clay Music Foundry, Duluth
