There's no April Fool's Day joking with the gas prices for Georgia commuters this week. The average price for gasoline is lower than last week.
AAA of Georgia's website shows the current average (as of today) sits at $3.32 per gallon. That's three cents below the average from last week. However, it is 12 cents more than one month ago, and 10 cents above the average price from the same time last year.
Montrae Waiters of AAA says, "Amid rising crude oil prices, Georgia gas price average managed to drop a little at the pump. Low demand and slow-rising crude oil prices help to reduce gas prices."
Average gas prices around Hall County are at $3.27 per gallon, slightly lower than the statewide average. The lowest average price in the northeast region can be found in Hart County at $3.20 per gallon and Towns County at $3.21 per gallon.
Since last Monday, the national average for a gallon of regular gasoline holds steady at $3.53 per gallon. A link to find average prices in Georgia, you can go to the AAA website page, HERE.
