A baby was airlifted Friday by Air Life Georgia to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston after an emergency at a Cornelia Walmart.
Medical personnel responded to the infant emergency at the Cornelia Walmart, after reports came in that a 5-month-old was not breathing, authorities said Friday.
“Cornelia police officers got on scene prior to our arrival and brought the child to the med unit,” Cornelia Fire Chief Billy Joe Jenkins Jr. said. “We immediately began care and rushed the child to the Habersham County Airport near Baldwin.”
The infant was immediately flown to Atlanta at Egleston.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by today’s emergency,” Jenkins said.
