The Hall County Sheriff's Office arrested on Thursday a Gainesville man on charges of theft by deception and exploitation of an elder person.
B.J. Williams with the Hall County Sheriff's Office said Billy Lee Davenport, 53 took $2,500 from a 66-year-old victim and led her to believe he was selling her a vehicle.
Davenport allegedly sold that vehicle to another party and refused to return the victim's money.
According to arrest warrants that incident occurred on Feb. 7.
Davenport remains in the Hall County Jail without bond as of the last report.
