A Gainesville man was sentenced Thursday to 30 years with 25 to be served in prison plus sex offender special conditions

Lee Darragh, District Attorney of the Northeastern District said Chief Judge Jason Deal sentenced Repo X. Lewis to one count of enticing a child for indecent purposes and three counts of child molestation.

The victim testified on Tuesday that she was eleven when Lewis began sexually abusing her.

Lewis’ abuse went on for over a year and included touching under the guise of messages.

The victim confided in a cousin when the abuse began but she swore the cousin to secrecy.

The victim told her mother about the abuse in August 2022 and the mother called the Gainesville Police Department. Investigator Erin Escalante began investigating the case.

The victim described the abuse to Savannah Partee in a forensic interview at the Edmondson Telford Center.

Pardee testified as an expert witness in child sexual abuse.

The case was prosecuted by Brooke Jackson and Harold Buckler. They were supported by Victim Advocate Andrea Shoemaker, Administrative Assistant Shakira Nieves and Investigator Stuart Stevens.
