A Gainesville man is facing child pornography charges.

Danny Lamar White, 66, was arrested Tuesday at his home by the Gainesville Police Department after allegedly compiling visual sexual depictions of children engaged in sexually explicit conduct on his phone.

Police began investigating White on March 17 when officials at a local electronics store reported him after he came into the store to receive help with a new electronic device.

“Rest assured, we will continue to investigate these types of cases aggressively as we have always done,” Chief Jay Parrish stated in a press release. “The apprehension of those who seek to exploit or harm children will remain a top priority for the Gainesville Police Department. We will continue to devote efforts toward keeping our children and community safe from predators.”

White was charged with felony electronic exploitation of a minor. He is being held in the Hall County Jail as the case remains under investigation.
