Gwinnett County authorities located the suspect in a $200,000 real estate scam.

Jaylen Anderson of Fairburn was arrested and booked into the Gwinnett County Jail Thursday, according to a release from the Gwinnett County Police Department.

Original story:

Detectives are asking the public to help them locate a suspect in a $200,000 real estate scam.

Gwinett County Police officials released an image Wednesday of Jaylen Anderson, age 23 of Fairburn. He is accused of conducting a real estate scam in January of 2023.  Detectives claim Anderson's two separate victims were led to believe they were purchasing property in Ellenwood, Georgia, from a Facebook Marketplace ad.

The victims have reported that they were instructed to wire large amounts of money to what they thought was a law group in Atlanta that the suspect claimed to represent. When the victims arrived at the law office on their closing dates, they discovered they had been scammed out of more than $100,000 each.

Anderson is charged with four counts of theft by deception, identity theft, and records and reports of currency transactions. Police officials say that Anderson’s whereabouts are currently unknown.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to contact Gwinnett police detectives by calling 770-513-5300.
