Chestatee swept its opening round Region 8-4A series and North Hall took a tense series win over East Forsyth after the opening week of Region 8-4A subregion play last week.

Region 8-4A, along with every other region involving northeast Georgia area teams, will be in action this week as the races for playoff positioning heats up. Ten important region matchups will begin on Monday, including Chestatee and East Forsyth, as well as No. 2-ranked Cherokee Bluff in 8-4A, who opens a series with East Hall at East Hall Park.

Buford and Mill Creek, both undefeated after taking sweeps to open 8-7A last week, begin a three-game series in Hoschton on Monday, with the series winner taking early control in the race for the region title.

Region 8-6A has a huge week with everyone but Apalachee playing key series'. Unbeaten Habersham Central and region leader opens at home against Jackson County, Gainesville plays at Lanier, and third-place North Forsyth takes on Shiloh at home on Monday.

Jefferson and Flowery Branch, tied for second in Region 8-5A after splitting a pair of games last week, are back in action on Monday. The Dragons travel to heritage-Conyers while the Falcons play host to Eastside.
