Forsyth County's School District recently honored their Partners in Education during thier annual luncheon throught the Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce.
The Thursday, March 14 event paid tribute to the teachers of the Forsyth County schools who were honored for their work and dedication to students and the community, while also honoring local businesses and groups that support the district, schools and teachers alike.
During the luncheon, Forsyth County school officials recognized the recipients of annual awards, as is listed below:
2024 Forsyth County Schools Teacher of the Year: Dawn James, Lakeside Middle School
Don Hendricks Award: Brandywine Printing
Partner in Education Gold Program of the Year: Evan Profeta State Farm Insurance
Partner in Education Silver Program of the Year: Office Depot/Office Max
Partner in Education Silver Program of the Year: Warbington Farms
Friend of the School: Forsyth County Health Department
Volunteer of the Year: Tomas Baez
Mentor of the Year: Jeff Cooney
Teacher of the Year Dawn James addressed the attendees of the luncheon, and thanked her fellow teachers, staff assistants, administrators and most importantly, her students and their families for continuing to support her efforts inside and outside of the classroom.
