Region 7-3A and Region 8-A Division 1 will be in full swing on Thursday while Buford and North Forsyth will play two tough non-region games.

Lumpkin County (4-6, 0-2 Region 7-3A) will play host to White County (8-3, 2-0 Region 7-3A) looking to avoid the sweep against the Warriors in their region-opening series in 7-3A. Also in 7-3A, West Hall (3-8, 1-1 Region 7-3A) travels to ninth-ranked Dawson County (7-3, 1-1 Region 7-3A) in the two teams' rubber match to complete their region-opening series as well.

Buford, ranked seventh in Class 7A, will travel to No. 1-ranked Parkview in one of the better matchups in the state on Thursday. The Wolves (5-4) have played a very difficult schedule while the Panthers (8-1) are coming off their first loss of the season.

North Forsyth (6-4) will play host to Archer (5-4) in Coal Mountain in a showdown of Class 6A vs. Class 7A.

In Region 8-A Division 1, Commerce and Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy will play a doubleheader to close out their region-opening series. The Tigers (1-7, 0-1 Region 8-A D1) have lost seven straight playing one of the tougher schedules in the area, including to BASA in the series' opener. BASA (4-3, 1-0 Region 8-A D1) won just one game in 2023 and is the surprise team in the region so far.
