BOGART, Ga. — North Oconee scored two unanswered goals to knock off Johnson, 3-1, Tuesday night in a battle for the top spot in Region 8-4A.
The Lady Titans (6-1, 5-0) went up early 1-0, but Johnson (6-1, 4-1) answered with a 50-yard shot from Liz Rivera that tipped over the Titans' goalkeeper and hit the back of the net.
Johnson keeper Lottie Landers had several big saves against the defending Class 4A champs.
The Lady Knights will travel to Jekyll Island for the Tournament of Champions Showcase this weekend. They'll return to Region 8-4A action on Friday, March 15, against East Forsyth.

The Lady Bears won their third straight game, all in Region 8-4A play, with a win on the road Tuesday night.
Carson DeMars scored four goals to pace Bluff (6-4, 3-0 Region 8-4A). Bristol Kersh added two goals, and Ashley Scott, Naomi Cornett, and Ashley Cook all netted one goal apiece for the Lady Bears.
DeMars, Bristol Akers, Scott, and Layne Hammond each had an assist.
Cherokee Bluff next will play host to Cedar Shoals on Friday in region play.
LAKEVIEW ACADEMY 9,
HORIZON CHRISTIAN 4
Sadie Leek scored three goals and had three assists to lead the Lady Lions to a win on Tuesday.
Senior Annie Nivens, fresh off helping the Lakeview girls basketball team win a state title, made her season debut with two goals and an assist. Jayci Purdy also scored twice, and Jalyn Purdy and Addi Graham each scored one goal for Lakeview.
Mackay Vinton, Avery Marshall, Anna Kate Westmoreland, and Gwyneth Hobgood each recorded assists.
Lakeview will play host to crosstown rival Lanier Christian next.
