With a recent state grant paving the way for Hall County to open a library branch in the East Hall area for the first time in over a decade, two community input sessions are now set to be held this month for the project.
The sessions will both be held on Monday, March 18 at the East Hall Community Center on P. Davidson Road. The first will be held at 3:00 p.m. and the second at 6:00 p.m.
Hall County Library System Director Lisa MacKinney said community members are invited to attend and offer their feedback on the project.
"The construction of the new East Hall Library presents a significant opportunity to create a space that truly reflects the needs and aspirations of the community," MacKinney said. "We want to hear directly from residents about
what they envision for their new library, from the layout and amenities to the types of programs and services offered."
The previous East Hall branch of the Hall County Library System was closed in 2011 due to budget cuts during the economic recession. A recent $3 million construction grant from the state of Georgia in the Fiscal Year 2024 budget, however, has allowed the county to move forward with building a new branch in the area.
