A residential structure fire in Banks County is under investigation after damaging two buildings on one property Tuesday afternoon.
A release from Banks County Chief Steve Nichols says their crews were aided by Baldwin city, Habersham and Jackson County's emergency departments to douse the flames at a home on Hidden Valley Drive in Alto at around 3:20 p.m.
The fire heavily damaged a single-family home and detached garage on the property, with the cause for the fire believed to be from a burn barrel and accidental, in nature.
Nichols says that crews needed nearly 6 hours to extinguish the fire and secure the area. No injuries were reported.
