Tennis: NHall, Bluff take sweeps at home

GAINESVILLE, Ga. — Both North Hall tennis teams opened their Region 8-4A schedules in impressive fashion on Monday, beating over rival Chestatee at the North Hall Courts.

Neither team dropped a set in getting 5-0 wins. The North Hall boys got singles wins from Jack Maddox, Griffin Keener, and Cole Grover. The finished off the sweep with doubles wins by Luis Delgado and Brooks Dorsey and Easton McNair and James Floyd.

The North Hall boys improved to 4-2 overall and 1-0 in region play.

In the girls match, the Lady Trojans lost nine total games in getting the win. Lilly Perry, Maggie Perry, and Kate Rogers lost just three games in sweeping the singles.

Ali Moore and Amelia Moore won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 doubles and Addie Bangs and Ellie Bangs won in straight sets at No. 2 doubles.

The North Hall pushed their record to 5-1 on the season and 1-0 in region play.

Both North Hall will be back in action on Tuesday at home in another region matchup with Seckinger. 


CHEROKEE BLUFF SWEEPS BANKS COUNTY

Both the Bluff boys and girls teams took identical 4-1 win over Banks County at the Bluff Courts on Monday.

The Bluff boys swept the singles with Boston Murphy, Jett Hewette, and Nick Bellew all getting wins. The No. 1 doubles team of James Rivenbark and Brady Woodward also took a straight-set win.

Banks County got its only win at No. 2 doubles with Cooper White and Drew Daniel getting a straight-win.

For the girls, the Lady bears also swept the singles Bryson Bishop, Alyssa Baricevic, and Presley Rosen getting wins. The No. 1 doubles team of Erica Rosen and London McDaniel also won for Bluff.

The Lady Leopards got their win at No. 2 doubles with Bacy Ausburn and Nia Andrews winning in straight sets.
