The Hall County School Board is set to host two public hearings that will discuss the potential changing of school attendance lines for multiple Elementary schools across the County.
The first meeting will take place on Mon. March 11 at 6:00 p.m. at the West Hall High School Performing Arts Center.
The second hearing will be at the East Hall High School Performing Arts Center on Mon. March 25 at 6:00 p.m.
"These will have nothing to do with Middle and High school attendance zones, but we are making a concerted effort over the next few years to try to shift some some full seats to empty seats in the North and in the East," said Superintendent Will Schofield.
Citizens can voice their opinion to members of the Board about a recommendation to change student attendance lines at the following Elementary schools:
- White Sulphur Elementary School
- Riverbend Elementary School
- Oakwood Elementary School
- Martin Elementary School
- McEver Elementary School
- Sardis Elementary School
- Myers Elementary School
- Sugar Hill Elementary School
- Tadmore Elementary School
- Lanier Elementary School
Schofield also adds that "there'll be several years of grandfathering opportunities."
The change of student attendance lines is in preparation for the upcoming opening of Sandra Dunagan Deal Elementary School in the 2024-2025 School year.
Those who attend the public hearings are asked to sign up prior to the start of the meeting.
