Clarkston man arrested in Oakwood burglary case

A Clarkston man has been arrested after police said he burglarized a Dollar Tree store in Oakwood last week.

A social media post by the Oakwood Police Department said Thomas Patrick Anderson, age 56, was located and arrested by the DeKalb County Police Department last Friday, just hours after being identified by Oakwood officials.

Anderson is accused of smashing in the front door of the store on Winder Highway early last Thursday morning and stealing an undisclosed amount of cash from the manager's office. Oakwood police officials also said Anderson previously worked at the store.

Anderson is currently being held in the Hall County Jail without bond on burglary charges.

Oakwood police are looking for a Clarkston man they say burglarized a Dollar Tree store he previously worked at this week.

Sergeant Stewart Webb with the Oakwood Police Department said Thomas Anderson, age 56, broke into the store on Winder Highway around 3:30 Thursday morning.

"He smashed in the front door, entered the business and went to the manager's office," Webb said Friday morning. "He stole an amount of cash and fled the scene."

Webb said Anderson was identified by security camera footage in the store. He said Oakwood police are now working to locate Anderson.

"We currently have reached out to the surrounding agencies in Georgia and have put a Be On the Lookout for him," Webb said.

Charges are pending against Anderson.
