Commuters will not start their week on a happy note, when heading to the gas pumps this morning.
AAA of Georgia's website shows Georgia's statewide average price for unleaded regular gasoline is at $3.16 per gallon. That's up 13 cents from one week ago, and 19 cents abouve the average price from one month ago. Fortunately, this price is six cents lower than the average price from the same time last year.
Montrae Waiters of AAA says, "The rise in crude oil prices continues to be the major culprit for higher prices in Georgia. Unfortunately, we cannot predict how high gas prices will rise this week."
Average price for unleaded regular gasoline in Hall County today (Monday) is at $3.15 per gallon, with the lowest average price throughout Northeast Georgia is in Hart County, at $2.96 per gallon.
Most expensive areas in Georgia for average gas prices are in Savannah at $3.27, Hinesville-Fort Stewart at $3.25, and Brunswick at $3.22 per gallon.
Least expensive areas for gas are in are Macon at $3.10, Warner Robins at $3.08, and Catoosa-Dade-Walker at $3.05 per gallon.
Nationwide, AAA shows the average price is higher, at $3.27 per gallon today. A link to the AAA website for statewide averages can be found here.
