The Upper Chattahoochee River Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) is now accepting entries for their 2024 Photo Contest for residents located within the District’s area.

The annual Photo Contest provides amateur photographers ages 10 through adult the chance to have their photograph selected to advance on to the state contest.

According to a release this week from the Georgia Association of Conservation Districts (GACD), the National Association of Conservation Districts’s annual Stewardship features a theme and highlights the work of Conservation Districts to protect and enhance natural resources. This year’s theme, “May the Forest Be with You, Always”, focuses on the importance of our forests.

Each photographer is allowed to enter up to five photos that fit into categories which include Conservation Practices, Close-up Conservation, Conservation in Action, and Agriculture and Conservation Across Georgia.

Deadline for contest entrants is April 15.

The Upper Chattahoochee River Soil and Water Conservation District is state government unit overseeing natural resource management in Forsyth, Dawson, Lumpkin, White and Habersham Counties. The Conservation District works with farmers and landowners to educate and actively promote programs and practices that supports conservation and development of soil, water, and related resources.
