The Georgia Department of Transportation will be shifting traffic to the newly constructed bridge over Interstate 985 at the Elachee Preserve beginning Monday.
Motorists can expect intermittent lane closures as needed Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 4 to 7 p.m. on Elachee Drive.
The former bridge will be disassembled beginning next week. For the bridge to be deconstructed, single-lane closures and traffic pacing will occur on I-985 in both directions beginning Monday evening, February 12, 2024, from 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. The demolition is expected to be completed within a week, weather permitting.
GDOT recommended considering alternate routes due to anticipated delays. Drivers are cautioned to reduce their speed while traveling through work zones, stay alert, and watch for workers.
