Rabun County Authorities arrest North Carolina man for alleged drug trafficking

The Rabun County Sheriff's Office arrested on Tuesday a man from North Carolina after a traffic stop uncovered illegal drugs. 

Rabun County Sheriff's Office officials said Alexander Farland, 30, of Sylva, NC was stopped for a traffic violation on US Hwy 76 at the RaceTrac station in Clayton. 

Further investigation revealed nearly 29 grams of methamphetamine and close to 16 grams of fentanyl. 

Authorities said Farland also had warrants out of Cobb County. 

This case has been turned over to the Appalachian Regional Drug Task Force for further investigation.
