Habersham County officials have announced that the county’s two recycling centers are open for additional days.

The County's Solid Waste Department says that they will now have the Cornelia/Habersham Recycling Center, at 507 Nicolon Drive, Cornelia, open Mondays through Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. They will also have the Clarkesville Recycling Center, at 4142 Toccoa Highway, open Tuesday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Each center was previously open only three days, weekly.

County Solid Waste Director Johnnie Vickers says that this now provides a combined five additional days for residents to properly dispose of their recycling materials. Vickers adds that the purpose of the extension of days is not just for customer conveience, but to extend the lifetime of Habersham County's Solid Waste facility, which faces maximum capacity issue in the months and year ahead.
