Through the Gwinnett Small Business Grant, Gwinnett County has awarded financial assistance to hundreds of small businesses negatively affected by COVID-19.
Gwinnett County officials said a total of 1,075 businesses were awarded grants. Total grant funds disbursed were nearly $7.1 million.
Recipients received between $3,000 to $15,000 of assistance depending on the number of employees, gross revenue, total COVID-19 impact on the applicant, available funds and the number of applications received.
“Small businesses played a pivotal role during the pandemic by providing essential products, goods, and services to residents,” Planning and Development Director Matt Dickison said “We are grateful Gwinnett County was able to repay the favor in kind, by providing critical funding to small business owners who needed it most.”
Funding was provided by two federal sources the American Rescue Plan Act and the Community Development Block Grant Program.
