Drivers in Georgia have some holiday cheer to enjoy while out shopping for gifts-the gift of stable gas prices statewide this week at the pumps.
AAA of Gorgia's website shows commtuers in the Peach State are seeing the same $2.91 per gallon for unleaded regular gasoline (subject to change) as they did one week ago, and have seen minimal fluctuation over the past six weeks. This rate is 1 cent less than a month ago and 11 cents less than last year. It costs drivers an average price of $43.65 to fill a 15-gallon tank of regular gasoline.
Montrae Waiters with AAA says that, "Fuel expenses in Georgia remained steadfast, showing little to no fluctuation at the pumps statewide. But, just a heads up, with folks fueling up more and if crude oil costs creep up, we might see a little hike in the prices at the pump as we get closer to Christmas time.”
Hall County gas stations are posting an average price at about $2.89 per gallon on Monday, with the lowest average in northeast Georgia found in Ste[jens County, at $2.78 per gallon. The highest average price is found in Union County, at $3 per gallon.
Nationally, AAA shows the average price for unleaded regular gas has risen two cents, to $3.04 per gallon. A link to AAA's price chart for Georgia can be found here.
