Banks and Jackson county fire units responded to a home fire in Commerce on Tuesday.
Officials say that upon arrival, they found a single-family residence on Spring Lake Road partially involved with fire.
The fire was contained to a single area of origin and residents were home at the time of the fire at around 2 p.m.
No injuries were reported during the incident, but the home was listed as heavily damaged.
The fire is being reported as accidental in nature and a space heater was not ruled out as the ignition source.
The American Red Cross was notified and responded to assist the family, with the fire being put out by 4 p.m.
