Triple-A of Georgia expects record-setting commuter numbers, but THANKFULLY, gas prices will not be record-setting during the busiest travel week of the year for Thanksgiving.

Montrae Waiters says the unchanged average price throughout Georgia sits at $2.93 per gallon (Monday) today, as gasoline production decreased last week, despite the projected high travel numbers. Waters adds that more than 2.1 million Georgians will take a road trip for the Thanksgiving holiday. Georgia remains under $3, so hitting the road for a getaway will be pleasing to the wallet of most drivers. However, price fluctuations remain possible, as record holiday travel volume could put pressure on fuel demand this week.

Hall County commuters are seeing average prices also staying round $2.89 for a second-straight week (as of Monday), with the lowest average in northeast Georgia found in Hart County at $2.75. The highest average is found in Lumpkin County at $2.99 per gallon.

Nationally, the average price actually dropped two cents per gallon this week to $3.05 per gallon, leaving many travelers across the nation with something to be thankful for, heading into the Thanksgiving holiday.
