Another northeast Georgia county has announced their plans for operation during, and around the Thanksgiving holiday for 2024.
Barrow County’s administrative offices, courts, senior center, and animal shelter will be closed Thursday, November 28 and Friday, November 29 for the Thanksgiving holiday.
In addition, the Barrow County Senior Citizen’s Center will be closed Wednesday, November 27 and will open for normal business hours on Monday, December 2.
Buildings and athletic fields will be closed at Victor Lord Park during the two-day holiday observance, though the park itself will remain open. Batting cages, tennis and pickleball courts will be available.
The Barrow County Water office will be closed, but essential staff will remain on duty. Citizens reporting a water emergency may do so by calling (770) 307-3014 to be connected with appropriate on-call staff.
Essential public safety personnel will also remain on duty during the holiday.
