JEFFERSON, Ga. – Top-seeded Jefferson wasted no time getting on the board Friday night on the way to a 45-6 win over Monroe in the opening round of the Class 3A playoffs.

The Dragons kept it going in the second quarter on a Taylor McCall 36-yard field goal to take a 17-0 lead. Markey took over after that, finding Dalton Dye for an 8-yard passing score that pushed the lead to 24 points before rushing for a 26-yard touchdown to get a 31-6 lead at halftime.
Jefferson piled it on in the second half as Mickell PIttman put the exclamation mark on the game withan 8-yard touchdown run that got the game to its final score.
The Dragons will now look forward to a rematch of the regular season finale against Oconee County next week in the Sweet 16. The Warriors won the first matchup, 32-30, in overtime just two weeks ago.
