OAKWOOD, Ga. — Jess Tamplin scored 23 points, and Kinley Hawkins had 20 to lead the Flowery Branch girls basketball team past Johnson, 56-34 on the road Friday night.
Madison Pitchford added nine points in the win.
The Lady Falcons jumped out to a 25-11 lead at halftime and extended it to 38-21 at the end of the third quarter. Branch outscored Johnson, 18-13 to seal the win.
Emily Hernandez led the Lady Knights with 21 points.

The Lady Vikings opened their season with a solid win at home over the Class 6A Lady Titans, a playoff team in Class 7A last season.
Kaylana Curry poured in 16 points to pace East Hall. Haley Barton added 12 points and Terriah Watkins had 11 points for the Lady Vikings.
East Hall (1-0) will be back in action on Saturday, taking on Rabun Gap-Nacoochee as part of the AP Showcase at Banks County High School.
