A Habersham County Sheriff’s Office patrol car was struck early Friday while on the scene of a mechanical breakdown on Ga. 365.
A Baldwin police officer was initially called to Ga. 365 southbound near Alto on Mud Creek Rd. at 4:16 a.m. to shut down a lane for a trailer that had lost its tires. A HCSO deputy was also dispatched at 5:29 a.m. to continue the standby while crews offloaded chickens from one trailer to another.
The deputy then notified dispatchers at 6:15 a.m. his stationary vehicle had been struck by another vehicle traveling on the roadway. There were no injuries, according to a report from the department.
The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the incident.
